Counseling Approach
After years of working with clients from all over the world, I find when they genuinely feel heard and not judged, sets off the spark to their process of healing and moving forward.
I will encourage you to be who you are, and bring your inner thoughts out as we process together. By unpacking your story, my goal is to help you find new narratives of your experiences. And together, refine meaning in various areas of your life.
I especially feel most impactful working with navigating relationships, anxiety, trauma, as well as dealing with spiritual or religious matters (faith questioning/burnout or improving spirituality).
What brings me to Korea
I was born in South Korea and spent most of my school years here. Over time, I became very intrigued with counseling and spirituality, which brought me to Louisiana in the U.S. for further studies. I found Louisiana such a fascinating hub of bridging spirituality to diverse experiences. And the contrast to South Korea couldn’t have been greater! The education and experience I had in both countries eventually laid the foundation of my counseling work.
When I returned to Korea to help expand counseling services, I found my calling working with the growing international community.

Counseling Approach
My counseling approach is process oriented and often explore emotions, beliefs, past histories and relationships. Where I believe the therapeutic process is providing an experience for you. Meaning the experience of you expressing, processing and working through your thoughts and emotions and beliefs, will be the key drivers to elicit changes within yourself to better address life challenges and improve overall well-being.
In addition, my role is to guide and support you to problem solve or discover answers, and not provide direct answers. At most I can provide you my perspective as objectively as possible, while referencing to my knowledge and experience.
What brings me to Korea
I am originally from California, United States and spent majority of my life there. However months after getting married, my spouse and I moved to Korea to be closer to her family. And here I embarked on a journey living in a foreign country and venturing into parenthood. Both of these experiences further inform me of what I can bring back to my clients. It is a real privilege to live and work in Korea and I hope my experience can support others with this unique experience.
